There are Different Types of HOA Committees


  • Executive committees are committees that are exclusively made up of HOA board members.


  • Standing committees are committees that have constant tasks to fulfill. As the name suggests, these committees exist for an indefinite period of time.

Ad Hoc.

  • Adhoc committees are assembled for a specific purpose and disband after that purpose is achieved.


The Benefits of having HOA Committees far outweigh not having them.

Essentially committees are an integral part of an HOA community. They are there to support the HOA board first and second, they provide services that the community needs. Examples of HOA committees include an architectural committee, a Social committee, and a landscape committee.

HOA board members are not community management professionals. They are homeowners who volunteer to serve their community. As such, board members may not have the experience or expertise to manage the community. By establishing HOA committees, board members can delegate some of the tasks and responsibilities to volunteer homeowners.
