You are Invited to the Juanita Craft Humanitarian Awards!
The Juanita Craft Humanitarian Awards were created to honor Ms. Craft’s legacy. She was an influential activist during the civil rights movement and played a crucial role in integrating the State Fair of Texas among other universities, restaurants, and theaters around Dallas. Hosted by the State Fair of Texas and the Friends of the Juanita J. Craft Civil Rights House & Museum, the ceremony recognizes past, present, and future leaders who are following in Mrs. Craft’s footsteps, as well as presents awards to individuals who have made an impact on civil rights in the City of Dallas. In tandem, guest speakers deliver powerful messages that set the tone for the event, including remarks this year from Rev. George A. Mason, Ph.D., and Juanita Jewel Cook, goddaughter of Juanita J. Craft, who will present a special Legacy Moment honoring Mrs. Craft’s life, impact, and enduring influence.
